I just recently upgraded my computer and installed windows xp pro sp2. The
problem is that after I copied the files from my old hard disk to the new
one, I am able to open or modify the files without any problems. But if I
logon with an account with any privileges other than administrator all files
become read only. I tried removing and recreating accounts. The same account
works fine with administrator privileges, but if I change the privilege to
any thing less, even power user, the files become read only. I need to get
around this as in my set up leaving all accounts as administrator is a bit
risky and I still need to let the users be able to modify their own files

Instead of going through all that with the user accounts, just take
ownership of the files.
