As I can't get a question added, I'll put it in the form of a comment.

I have Publisher 2003 and cannot open documents created in earlier versions
(don't know which version, but the docs were created in 1997-9).

So that excludes you from proper accepted use of the forums and lets you
post whatever you want where ever you want?

If your time is limited, it would be better spent by asking in a group
that includes Publisher experts. Media Center experts hang out here.
Not that you're not welcome but we can't help you.
