With a Compaq computer, it has a AMD Sempron 3200+ and in the setup it shows
that it runs at 1800 MHz. I know that's what it does run at, but the problem
is, in the System Properties it shows:

AMD Sempron(tm) Processor
3200+
984 MHz, 224 Mb of RAM

I know it needs more RAM, but any ideas why the CPU speed is cut in half?

Hi again
I just installed another 512Mb, and now the CPU speed has jumped up to
1.79GHz.
Makes me wonder why more memory would affect the CPU speed.
Anyway it works Smile

Is you're processor a dual core? If so there's your answer. 2 processors
running at 1.8 GHZ should roughly come out to the 3200. I have an AMD Athlon
4200, and it shows 2.2Ghz, but there are 2 cores. More or less RAM will not
change the speed of your processor. Hope this helps.
