I can ping an IP address on the company intranet, but when I try to Telnet
into it at a command prompt, it doesn't work. I know the IP address and port
number. Have tried usiing a command prompt, IE, and Hyperterminal. Nothing
works.

Any suggestions??

Robert,
I work for the phone company and what I am trying to connect is not a
computer, but a piece of electronic communication equipment.
I figured out what it was. Services.msc has a telnet choice and it was
disabled. Once I enabled it and started it, telnet worked no problem.
When you ping an IP, it is not port specific and since it is not related to
telnet, that is why I could ping the IP but not telnet.
Thanks
