PROBLEMS SETTING UP A HOME NETWORK WITH A WINDOWS 98 DESKTOP

I have a windows 98 desktop and a wireless windows xp laptop. i have a cable internet connection and both are connected by a router the problem is that i cant set up file sharing between them. any help out there

The easiest and quickest way is to install NETBEUI (and that is NOT NetBios) on both machines, reboot both and they automagically see each other!! Then, you'll have to choose a file or two for practice, right click the file or folder, go to properties or sharing and security, depending on which mahcine you're on, and tell it to share it.

The Great thing about Netbeui is that printers also can then be shared the same way. Just hook it up to the pc, but, install it on both computers and when asked if you're adding a printer, tell it yes but choose a network printer on the laptop!
