You should'nt need to remove the current driver, simply run the newest
update,it should overwrite the current one.Otherwise,in device mgr, display
adapters,R.click,properties,driver,uninstall.

quayclocks,
Just go to the NVIDIA web site and download the updated drivers for your
particular graphics card. Install it and it will take care of
removing/changing what it need to to update.
Hope this helps.

This is NVIDIA's instruction with their driver download:
* Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA
display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu >
Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows
Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove.

You may get away with not doing the uninstallation first, but it's best to
do it as recommended. (If there is a driver corruption issue it can
cause significant problems not to do the removal.) I didn't bother
correcting Andrew E because he's a know problem with a history of inaccurate
and sometime damaging misinformation. If you're a new participant in
these news groups please be careful re. giving advice. It's appreciated
that you want to help others, but you may want to monitor the MVPs and
others of us who are professionals for a while first.

It is always a good idea to keep a copy of the old driver in case the new
one doesn't work as you expect or gives results that are not satisfactory to
you so you can revert to your old one if required.....been there and done
that:(

Thanks, do try to be careful and rarely ever post except to ask questions of
the pros.

In the case of NVIDIA updates, I can only report what my system does/has
done over the past 5 years of updates. It puts a new folder in the NVIDIA
folder with the update number and installs what it needs from there. When
checking the "properties" of the installation, some will show the new update
number, some retain older ones. Each prior update is in it's numbered folder
and can be reverted or rolled back if necessary.

Sorry, should have said, download it and follow the instructions for
installation on your system.
Thanks again, for reminding me to be very careful when posting.

I would like to thank all of you for your help, GTS pointed me in the right
direction and confirmed what I had read on the NVIDIA site, I am now awaiting
further explanation from Medion, my computer supplier, who, whilst they show
a NVIDIA driver update as per my serial number, do not specify if it is
suitable for XP Home.
It is certainly great to find such helpful people as your selves, keep up
the good work.
