Has anyone heard of the .NET 2 framework making the system unstable or
slow.(XP/SP2)
I had to install it to enable the upgrade of my ATI drivers and everytime I
turn off the machine I get a very brief "End Program " window that relates to
..NET 2 framework. Plus my system is lagging. Is there a way to see what .NET
or associated programs are doing?
Thanks in advance.

More than likely the true culprit is your upgraded ATI driver. The
framework is just a runtime, if something doesn't use it, it doesn't run.
Since it is your ATI driver that required the installation of the .NET 2.0
framework, suspect that first.

Hi Tom, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I will install my
older version of ATI suite. I have un-installed the current one but do I go
through the folders and registry to remove all traces of ATI including
drivers or will xp handle that for me?
Thanks, Mani.

That really depends on how well ATI wrote their uninstall routine. If that
doesn't work, you might want to try the driver rollback feature available
for that in Device Manager.
