Post subject: NDAS Scsi Controller driver problem, leads to blue screen... Please help....
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general, others (more info?)

Up until recently, my pc (PC1) accessed my network drive correctly along
with 2 other pc's on my home network...

Drive is a Targa NDAS 400...

Now only PC2 & PC3 can access the drive as they always have...

PC1 had an unrelated prob to which I did a repair install a couple of weeks
back... I also fully updated it via MS update site too...

Since then my network drive will not work on PC1, the supplied NDAS drive
manager installs fine, it recognizes the network drive when its switched on
but it will not mount it for access....

When mounting, the pc finds the 'new hardware (NDAS Scsi Controller)' and
attempts to install the driver files, partway through, I get the dreaded
blue screen...

The error message reads that there is a problem with 'scsiport.sys'

Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
Stop: 0x00000050
scsiport.sys (address F741CFFF, Base at F74008000, Datestamp 41107b4b)

I can access the network drive fully from the same pc (PC1) via my Vista
partition, but not the XP partition. also (ironically) I am at present
accessing the network drive using PC1 from my XP partition as a shared drive
directly from PC2 which somewhat defeats the objective of a network
drive....

Any idea what may have changed in my XP & the route to remedy...

BTW, My motorola L6 mobile also wont install now, when it was perfectly fine
before.... it bluescreens instead (maybe a related issue)

Note: have tried installing in safe mode many times in desperation... no joy
at all, exactly the same result, a bluescreen....

You will have to call Microsoft for the hotfix. Even if someone knows
the download location it probably won't help, hotfixes are usually
password protected and the passwords are constantly changed.
