Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>hardware (more info?)

Good Day,

I have a couple of issues that I am beginning to think that it's just MS
issues and I feel that I should just buy another brand mouse for all my
computers.

1: Out of the blue on a wireless connecting mouse will just start scrolling
up and down. Not just in IE but every window that has a scroll option. I
have tried to turn off scrolling and other things. Mouse driver is up to
date with latest drivers including keyboard. I have had this problem with
Wireless and Bluetooth. I was able to fix the problem by taking out the MS
drivers in my bluetooth setup. Does anybody out there know the reason for
this. I have seen other posts on Google but no answers that I have not
tried.

2: I have a wired mouse and keyboard, tried wireless but had above problem
so I went to direct connect. Drivers are up to date. Connected via PS/2
connector adapter. What happens is that when I click on an email or button
it almost seems that I am not in the right position to open the window, so I
have to keep on clicking. I have removed my mouse driver in this situation
but this did not fix the problem. I started seeing this after I installed
Office 2007.

If anybody has any ideas it would be a great help

Thanks
Adam Raff

Hello Adam,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

From your post, we are not sure what model and brand of your problematic
devices are encountering these issues. Could you let me know the model and
brand?

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao

Sorry,

I have a Microsoft Explorer 4.0 USB/PS2 mouse this is directly attached to
my computer. No matter what I do either USB or PS2 it seems that the mouse
will not open folders or files. It like the pointer is off the center and I
have to keep clicking to open something. I have removed the mouse driver on
this setup and that did not help as well. I did have the latest mouse
driver installed at the time.

On another system which is wireless/Bluetooth sorry not sure of the model
but it is also Microsoft hardware. The scroll feature would kick in and it
would go up and down and out of control. I have tried to reconnect and I
have tried new batters and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the devices
with no luck. I have uninstalled the Mouse drivers and that seemed to fix
the problem and yes it was also the latest driver set.

the above problem has happened on both systems. the top system I gave up
and just used a direct connected connection. I would like to keep the other
setup.

Any help would be appreciated

I have a MS Wireless Desktop Elite set withan Explore 2.0 mouse and I have
the same thing on my XP Pro very high end computer. Like set work perfectly
on my work computer. I had the same problem on my old home computer. Then my
house burned and I had to get a new computer (one I have now) and a new MS
Wireless Desktop Elite set with an Explore 2.0 mouse and I thought it would
cure the problem, but it did not. I am thining some driver or program is
causing the problem, because I did load ALL my former programs.
It is so bad , click the mouse and wait 10 seconds for something to happen.

I know this is an old post, but I had the same issue and I finally reverted
back to Inttyp/pnt 5.2 and everything is working as it used to and should..
the newer versions 5.4 up really screw up my computer running XP Pro 2 with
all updates..
Just FYI..
