Minimize a program

When I click on minimize, the program doesn't go in the task bar. To
maximize what is open I have to right click on the task bar and open task
manager to maximize or close a program. What do I have to do to have the
minimize program to go in the task bar like it used to do before instead of
going in the task manager?
