Hi,

while i m playing the above game, i get the message as activity ended :
fuseable plugs melted. I don't know how to over come this error while driving
the steam trains like Flyins Scotsman and Goldsrof engine.

Please if any one knows how to control the train to over come this error I
will be very happy. I like this game but cannot play for a long. Pls help me
if u can give me some tips or some key commands I hv to take care while
driving such steam engines.

Thankx.

Probably something to do with the water supply to the boiler OR the rate
of fuel consumption. Is the water level getting low? Have you tried
reducing the fuel feed rate or changing the air flow to the fire box?

There are some train simulation fans hanging out at the Train Sim

I don't see anyone else responding and I really don't have much
experience with the steam engines. What little I had was several years
ago and I believe I was utilizing the "Automatic Fireman" feature on the
General Options menu. If my memory serves me properly the "Automatic
Fireman" takes care of things like water feed rate, fuel feed rate,
blowers, dampers and the fire box door, all of which are important for
maintaining the proper boiler temperature. With the "Automatic Fireman"
enabled the engineer would still need to handle the regulator, reverser,
brakes, cylinder cocks and sander. There would also still be the issue
of not exhausting the water supply in the tender. With a steam boiler a
continued water supply would be an absolute necessity as long as fuel
was burning in the fire box.

Did you get any response in the forums.flightsim.com/ts group? I didn't
see any posts with a similar topic or user name in the Microsoft Train
Simulator section. You could also look at the tutorial in the simulator
and the article at http://www.train-sim.com/faq/msts/steam.htm#4.1

I did not post this question in any other newsgroup. As u said, i will try it
out with automatic fireman settings. To drive a steam engine has become a
challange to me. only 2 games i like. MSFS n MSTS.
Thankx for the prompt reply.
