Post subject: Microsoft Train Simulator(MSTS)
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>games (more info?)

Having been running MSTS on this Windows XP PC for months, I was required to
reload my Windows OS (Nothing to do with MSTS). Since doing so, I have been
unable to reload my MSTS. This always fails just as it's loaded the EULA
files, at which point, the system seems to go looking for something (you can
hear the drives revving up as if a search is going on) and locks itself out.

Considering that I have been working with MSTS since it came out, all be it
on differant PCs, you can imagine the frustration I'm experiencing in not
being able to get back onto it. Not only have I got routes that have taken me
years to evolve, but I've got most of the add-ons (British) as well, which
has been a fairly heavy investment. Everything's backed up of course, but
that doesn't help if I can't get the software reloaded.

Any suggestions (Other than re-loading Windows) would be most helpful.

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

The Registry was found to be corrupted and as such, had to be re-created.
This, unfortunately meant re-loading Windows after all.

Having done that, the problem has gone away and MSTS has loaded OK and is
running now.
