Hi, Im currently running Windows XP SP2 and i have windows live messenger 8.1
and im facing a problem with my msn messenger it constantly lags especially
when i try pc to pc phone calls. It also takes quite some time to load the
messenger program. Any idea on what is causing these 2 problems and how to
solve them?? I also have norton anitivirus 2005 installed.

Greetings Rida,

What kind of PC are you using? Windows Live Messenger can actually be pretty demanding on
some older PCs. Since you're using an older version of Norton, I assume your PC is at least
3 years old at the least.

What you might want to do instead is use MSN Messenger 7.0, which is the previous version of
Windows Live Messenger. You'll retain most of the functionality of Windows Live Messenger
(including PC to PC Phone capabilities) but the performance may be better.

You'll need to first uninstall Windows Live Messenger from Add or Remove Programs in the
Control Panel before installing MSN Messenger 7.0.
