I work in an IT department and we support a lot of laptops. We take all the usual steps to protect the machines. We have been lucky and none have been stolen yet. The question is can a program be installed on high security laptops that will wipe the hard drive after "X" number of failed logon..
« Are you asking "can I do that" or "can somebody else do that"? You can probably do that, but I am not aware of any particular program to recommend. Sounds kind of severe, no? I mean, completely era.. »

I have XP w/SP2. I had several network drives mapped, and XP would connect to them when I logged in. All of a sudden, Windows won't connect reliably when I log in. Sometimes I get a message to the effect that not all network drives could be connected. Anothe time, I'll get no message at ..
