I'm running Windows XP Pro -SP2

Periodically when I boot the machine the video fails. This happens
randomly - perhaps in one "boot" every twelve or so.

I am left with a black monitor with the message "no signal".

It is almost as though the video card does not initialise when booting.
A re-boot usually cures the problem and the machine works OK. No
problems have been encountered once the machine is running.

The video card is a Radeon X1650 - 512 Mb card.

I have updated the video drivers and run a check for malware.
I have also checked that the card is inserted fully home in the PCI
slot.

Any suggestios as to where else I should be looking?

Thanks.

Also check the video cable. Unplug both ends and reinsert both.
