Help Please . . .
I have successfully installed and run several of the Carmen
SanDiego educational games for my grandchildren. So far, four of five work
great. For some reason, when I try to run Carmen SanDiego Math Detective,
it always fails with the message: "Director Player 6.0 - This program
requires at least 3 MB of free virtual memory to run."
I installed the software in compatibility mode for win 98, with 640x480 and
256 color.
I have modified virtual memory per recommendations outlined in a prior
solution in newsgroups. Current status is below.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled per the manufacturers instructions.
So far, no luck.
What do you recommend that I try next?
PC Config: AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3200+
1.80 GHz, 960 MB RAM
System: MS Windows XP Pro, Version 2002, SP2
HD Capacity: 74.5 GB
63.9 GB Free
Virtual Memory:
Total paging file size for all drives: 1437 MB
Space available: 66904 MB
currently set for System managed size
Total paging file size for all drives : (C: only)
Minimum allowed: 2 MB
Recommended: 1437 MB
Currently allocated: 1437 MB
Thanks in advance . . . >> Stay informed about: Old Game Receives Virtual Memory Error |

In system properties, virtual memory,C: drive is set at "let system manage"
if not set at that, click set 2X close out.Otherwise, youre video card memory
amount might be minimul (too small) & ram memory also at min, replace
video card with better one &/or add more ram memory,&/or install a 2nd hd,
format the hd,in system properties,virtual-memory,also set to "let system
manage" this gets you more memory + added storage...

Mijos - Take a look at the Amazon page linked to below. The advice on this
page may well apply to your situation as well.

That did the trick! Thank you so much. Amazing to find the solution in the
comments for an Amazon item description. I spent far too many hours chasing
this down today. Needless to say, I'm sure I'll be back. Thanks again
