my firewall is giving me signals that Windows Explorer is trying to use
a new DLL file almost every 15 mins. Is this a virus or it is designed
like this?

Long ago I remember using Norton Commander. Is there a win32 compatible
version of non-Microsoft product, which will replace the Explorer?
