I use my own icons in my start menu, and they've worked perfect for 6 months.
About 8 weeks ago I downloaded some (about 6) Microsoft Windows Updates, and
they'd revert to the default icons after 10 minutes using the computer. I
uninstalled the updates, and they again worked perfect.

Last week, I did an Update again, and ran into the same problem, although my
own icons hang around for hours this time. I'm considering whether I should
start uninstalling the updates one by one until the problem goes away. This
time there were 18!

I was hoping someone might know a better way, or what to look for in the
Update descriptions to try and uninstall first.
