I was asked by a friend recently how to change the color of the text used in
an icon on the desktop but wasn't able to give him an answer.
Is this possible, and if so can someone explain to me how to go about it?
TIA

If they are enjoying the "no holes in the wallpaper look" of XP, their only
choice is white with drop shadows.

If they don't mind seeing the icon labels using a background color, they
can turn off drop shadows on text (System Properties> Performance> Visual
Effects). Then under Display> Background, they can select any wallpaper but
choosing a light background color will give dark text and a dark background
will give white text.

To colorize their text, they will need to give up the XP style desktop and
use Classic.

The above are using XP tools only. There are more options if using a third
party customizing program such as Window Blinds: http://www.stardock.com

Thanks for your advice Sharon. I'll take a look at the Stardock site.

You can also try:

unfortunately, Shareware. You have to pay for full version.

Another one is:

Hope this help, let us know!
