I am multibooting Windows ME. A Chinese local language version of XP Pro, and
a International language version of XP Pro.

My old girl friend used the Chinese language OS and had her own password,
but we split and I don’t have her password. I am Administrator and can access
her files and use her OS and I have backed up her “My Documents” to a disk so
don’t worry about loosing them.

I want to set this up for my new girl friend with a new password, but I
don’t have the disks for all of the program files so it’s important that I
don’t loose any programs.

My question is: How to give new girl friend user access and a new password
to this OS without loosing any of the programs?

What was wrong with the answer you already got? One more time: make
another user for the new GF. This has nothing to do with the programs
installed on your computer.

With Windows XP - the users and the programs installed have little in common
EXCEPT what shortcuts to said programs (and permissions to said programs)
the users may have.

Create a new user and ensure anything you want her to have access to - she
has access to. (Shortcuts to in the start menu and desktop as well as
access to the actual files/folders those applications need.
