I now have Norton 2006 and it is due to expire soon. I know there has to be
a better solution than what I currently have.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
D

Anything is better than Norton. Even McAfee is slightly better (but
still a poor product).

I like and recommend the freeware Avast!

Anything other than Norton or McAffee. Avast and AVG are very good -
and free.

Hi D,

Avast is a good free AV application.
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

And NOD32 for a pay-for AV.

For a paid solution, I suggest F-Secure at www.f-secure.com

Avast is excellent - I have it on two machines, and I recommended it to a
Brazilian friend who installed the Portuguese version - and neither of us
has had a problem. It's free to private users - you just have to re-register
every year.

Either AVG or Avast. Both have free versions which are excellent. As for
Norton and McAfee - well, when no one is looking dump them in the bin!

You have plenty of good suggestions, just make sure you remove all software
related to Norton and reboot before installing new AV software, this
includes live update and livereg if you have no other Symantec products
installed.
