Using Windows XP Professional SP 2. I am trying to get drive letters for
temporary devices to show in "MY COMPUTER" when installed. The first time I
tried to "assign drive letters" I crashed the system. After recovery I
couldn't find any other references.

I have a DVD r/w and a flash drive that do not show a drive letter when
installed. I have trouble accessing them when they are needed. I finally
discovered that I could type the drive letter in and find it. Is there
anyway to get these devices to show up when installed.

Thanks for any help. I find the suggestions from the groups to been
extremely helpful and accurate.

David B.

Please excuse me for posting to the wrong area. I thought I had selected
windows XP but the ol' bifocals don't work as well as they once did. I will
repost and attempt to be more careful in the future.

Thanks...

This is really not the group for this question. This group is for Windows
Media Center, you should repost in one of the related XP groups.
