Post subject: Adding DNS and DHCP servers to firewall's trusted zone?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>security_admin (more info?)

I have a 3 PC (all XP) home wireless network through which the PCs access
the internet via a router and WPA encryption.

I also use Zone Alarm free as my software firewall. There is a bug in the
latest ZA that causes PCs that use it to intermittently loose internet
access and the recommended solution is to add the ip's of the DHCP and DNS
servers to the trusted zone of ZA. Is this a safe thing to do? Doesn't
adding DNS servers to the trusted zone open the network to anyone using
these servers?

Thanks.
