Hello,
I copied a whole set of folders from one disk to another on a Windows
2003 server.
These folders contain shares for about 10 persons. The problem is that
after having copied the folders to the new destination, the persons are
still able to delete their sub-folders when accessing them over the
share, but when they open a remote desktop on the server and try to
delete the folder (this is the way most of the people work with the
folders, via remote desktop on the machine), they get an "access
denied" error. They are still able to create new folders and rename
them, even in Remote Desktop.
The problem seems to be that I used the normal Windows copy and not
"Robocopy" or anything like that to copy the directory structure and
that some of the folder attributes seem to be lost or set to default
values. When I check the "effective rights" in the folder properties of
the folder, the users still have the "delete"-right on their folder and
subflders, but even though, it does not work to delete folders.
Working with files goes normally.
Any idea how to solve the problem?
Thanx in advance
C.B.
