When I try to close the computer down in stand by mode, A window pops up
stating that because of this driver I cannot go into stand by mode. It also
states I may need to update this driver. I have updated my Windows XP, I
went on version tracker's web site, ran a free scan, and it did not say I
needed to update this driver. I'm lost and could sure use some help. Any
assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem and got no help from ATI either so i had an expert go
through my whole system and he determined that my computer was running
correctly and the problem must be in the chipset drivers on the motherboard.
The cost to correct the problems on the motherboard are prohibative and it is
suggested that you forget about standy. If you find out anything different
please let me know. Thanks.

So are all the hw drivers on your sys obtained direct from the
manufacturers, or did you allow winupdate drivers to mess with your sys?
