In what program?
What language?
Windows Mail has a spelling checker for English, German, French or Spanish.

Yes this also worked for me although at first I was trying to get there from
the e-mail that I was sending then realized that I had to go to the main/home
page of windows e-mail then click on tools from there then go to spelling
then just re-click everything and wella! It was all better!

Which is a good thing to do. Email scanning is a redundant operation that
adds no protection. While not adding protection it slows down of breaks
email programs. It is a marketing scam started by Symantec and that forced
other anti-virus makers to follow suit.
