Are you sure you downloaded and unzipped it properly
and ran it from the folder that includes the scxout.dll ?

process for correction of the Outbox problem.

Is there any chance that the Outbox problem in Windows Mail is fixed in SP1?

Hi Julian,
I think I did all the right things. When I try to run it from the scxout
(which is DLL File) it tells me to choose wich program to run it with,
apparently I don't have the required one, so I have to choose from the
avaiable ones, and I have no idea which one to choose. I chose internet
explorer just to choose something, but it doesn't run it. Also scxout doens't
have .dll next to it. Does it matter? Should I delete and start over? Please
use simple languafe because as you can tell I don't know much about this.

I had the same problem, and microsoft sent me info on how to fix it, and it
worked just fine. The only mistake I made in the process was not "saving" my
files, but after I put the info back in, everything was fine. Go to
email.emachines.RemoveThis@emachines.com I have an "e" machine with windows e mail.
It may work on any computer, I don't know. I am not the brightest computer
operator in the world. Norman

There are an awful lot of people who come to these boards claiming
to have tried what they have not tried, read what they have not read, etc.
and they are usually identified by such errors in nomenclature.

I don't know what you mean by...
"When I try to run it from the scxout"

When you download and unzip wmutil you should get two two files.
1. scxout.dll
2. wmutil.exe

Make sure they are both in the same folder and then click
on wmutil.exe to execute.

Download the utility again and have another go.

I would expect that when Service Pack 1 for Vista is released, it will
either contain a bunch of patches for Windows Mail, or else it will
replace WM with the finished (final) version of Windows Live Mail.

There is little evidence that any issues with WM will be addressed in SP1
and some evidence that it is redundant with all M$ email resources being
put into its "replacement" Windows Live Mail.

and the issues people have with it tend towards the
cosmetic. It automatically adopts WM settings and data
on install.
